Self Assessment

Beginning my freshman year of college at CCNY. I had to choose an English course. However, at first, I was very confident and ready but an unexpected thing happen at the same time I applied for college I applied for an apprenticeship program with the MTA, The employment process was long and confusing at a point I believed I wasn’t chosen for the apprenticeship so I enrolled in CCNY with a full-time schedule. however, after about a month in school, I received an email confirming my placement in the apprentice program. This made things difficult for me, I generally feel like I couldn’t put 110 percent into my work but I kept pushing. The course I chose was the FIQWS/English course on the metropolis and an introduction to the history of the city. The course is divided into two distinct parts. Lectures on the history and development of urban planning, and essays on topics. Exposure to many different forms of literature and writing styles has been an exponentially effective way of improving my writing skills. Accessing many different resources in both courses allowed me to progress in researching and contextualizing information.
